These boards have been handcrafted from recycled native timber. There will be the odd blemishes as this timber has already been used for the past hundred years. It’s a privilege to craft these items into a usable product so they can continue to live on rather than going to landfill.
The boards measure 390mm square, with 50mm curved corners. The handles extend out a further 200mm to give good support, and a crafted hole at the end of the handle offers a great opportunity to hang the board and create a feature.
Each board has been sanded to a fine finish and coated in our special handcrafted wood butter. The main ingredient is beeswax, which is also available for purchase on our website.
These native trees would’ve been growing in their environment for hundreds of years prior to being felled for timber. Kauri has natural antifungal properties, but caring for your board is essential. Wash (don’t soak), allow to dry, and store in a cool environment. Regular use of our wood wax will help maintain the finish and protect the timber.
These items are unique, and the availability of this timber is becoming increasingly rare—make one yours today.
