These boards have been handcrafted from recycled native timber. There will be the odd blemishes as this timber has already been used for the past hundred years. it’s a privilege to craft these items into a usable product that they can continue to live on rather than going to landfill.
The sizes of the boards 390mm square, with 50mm curved corners. The handles extend out a further200mm to give good support, and a crafted hole at the end of the handle gives a good opportunity to hang the board and creating a feature.
These boards have been sanded to a fine finish and coated in our special handcrafted wood butter, the main ingredients of this is beeswax this also could be purchased on our website.
These native trees would’ve been growing in their environment for hundreds of years prior to being filled for timber, Kauri has unique antifungal properties on its own but looking after them is it essential they need to be washed not soaked in water and allowed to dry and stored in a cool environment when the board does using our wood wax will give them a coating they deserve.
