Heart Rimu End Grain Boards
These boards have been handcrafted from recycled native timber—no two boards will ever be the same, thanks to the uniquely expressive grain. You may notice the occasional blemish, as this timber has already lived a life over the past hundred years or more. It’s a privilege to transform these materials into functional pieces that continue their journey, rather than ending up as landfill or firewood.
This board measures 400mm x 290mm x 40mm thick. The handles are rebated into the sides, allowing both surfaces to be used. The rich Heart Rimu grain gives each board a warm, distinctive character.
Each board is sanded to a fine finish and coated in our special handcrafted wood butter. Made primarily from beeswax, this finish nourishes the timber and is also available for purchase on our website.
These native trees would have grown in their natural environment for centuries before being felled for timber. Caring for this item is essential: wash (don’t soak), allow to dry, and store in a cool, dry place. When the board needs conditioning, apply a coat or two of our wood wax.
